I have used Google + since it was in beta and found it to be a very effective tool for promoting both my blogs. It's easy to stay in contact with my readers by posting snippets of my posts via Google + along with a link to the actual blog post. More recently i have begun promoting my forum this way too and it seems very effective for getting visitors.
