Find Blog Using Blogger Image URL

Hello! Got a very interesting question that my friend asked me, but I also can't solve it.

My friend found some images on the web and he wanted to know where the images came from.

For example, a photo link from BloggerTrick:
  Code:
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Toi-rh0Nm00/Sj_K-nCkxWI/AAAAAAAADbg/8QRq-hHP4xM/s400/megan+fox.jpg

He realized that "_Toi-rh0Nm00" will always be the same if the image is uploaded from the same blog. But I have no idea how to reverse that.

Anybody up for this tough question?

Re: Find Blog Using Blogger Image URL

When you upload a photo thru the Blogger Dash, it gets sent to Google-Picasa.

If you don't have a Google-Picasa account at your first blog post, they create a new account & Blogger folder inside Picasa for you.

Google owns Blogger, so they share the same server to host photos.

I'm not sure what you mean by "reverse that".

That image will also show up as the first image inside Google-Images, from Bloggertricks.

What I meant was using the image URL to deduce where it came and uploaded from.

For example, an image was uploaded from "xyz.blogspot.com" and the image URL was "http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Toi-rh0Nm00/...". But supposed the image was hotlinked by other site, I only know the image URL. Now I want to use the unique code, for example, "_Toi-rh0Nm00" to deduce that it came from "xyz.blogspot.com". That's what I was trying to say.

But you mentioned about Picasa, which made me wonder if the code might be actually attached to the Picasa account instead to a particular blog.

Re: Find Blog Using Blogger Image URL

I see what your saying now. :)

They do hide that very well.

I was messing around with the domain in that image string you posted, If you do this site:http://4.bp.blogspot.com you can see all the images that are hosted on that domain (4.bp.blogspot).

I noticed in my Google Picassa images that have been uploaded thru blogger, that the domain isn't always the same, but the 2nd & 3rd folder names in the string are the same, it's kinda random looking as far as the domain name goes. & none of mine have a .blogspot domain, one of them is like this http://lh6.ggpht.com

This search string will show the bloggertricks blog 2nd row down 1st pic.

megan fox site:http://4.bp.blogspot.com filetype:jpg imagesize:280x400

Google Advanced Image Search
http://www.google.com/advanced_image_se ... n&safe=off

You already know the image size & image title, so that should help narrow it down.

Re: Find Blog Using Blogger Image URL

Thanks for your reply. Appreciate it very much.

But sadly, the search would be much easier if we got some information. If you only got the image URL and the picture isn't some celebrity then it might be quite a problem. So far I think it's not quite achievable, and I gotta say my friend had me stumbled.

Guess Google don't index all the pictures in the world. :P
