Did Google Algorithm Updates Murder Your Blogspot Blog ?

I work with bands in Austin. Most of them have blogs at google blogger. Since the Algorithm updates at google some are nowhere to be found. Even with a title search they might be ten pages deep. They all are established blogs with a wealth of backlinks, have all original non duplicate content, and a lot of it. I was wondering if google just said "the heck with our blogspot bloggers". We don't care if all of these people spent all of these years and work building up our blog community, we are going to put them on the back burner.

Marketing bands for 20 years I am constantly in the searches. Mostly google even though I have been with yahoo since day one and still have a place in my heart for them. I have noticed when checking the search results for my clients a lot of other blogspot blogs are nowhere to be found anymore that were once there. Yet the results are still cluttered with cafepress, squidoo, zazzle and many others who still rank at the top in a lot of searches.

Did The Google Algorithm Update Kill The Blogspot Blogger Star ?
Do you think they eventually come back up ?
Has anyone else noticed this ?

Re: Did Google Algorithm Updates Murder Your Blogspot Blog ?

If it does not help Google make money they tend to put it on autopilot. I wrote a post the other day questioning whether or not Google is doing anything to increase the popularity of the Google affiliate network. This is an affialte program owned and operated by Google, but most people don't know it exist, which makes me wonder why...? Also, I have never started blogging at blogger because I think Google doesn't really care about it. Not only that, but what have they done to improve the platform, it still lacks in look and feel, plus the features can't compare to Wordpress. Do they really care about blogger? I don't think so. Take a look at Mybloglog.com owned by Yahoo, it's shutting down, to bad for everyone that spent time building up their profile and gaining followers (including myself). I think one day Blogger might do the same. I am going to search the net to see if I can find out how the Panda Update as improved or weakened Blogger. Great topic.

Re: Did Google Algorithm Updates Murder Your Blogspot Blog ?

Google’s recent algorithm update aimed at improving the quality of search results has captured a great deal of attention – both positive and negative. The general consensus seems to be that the results are in fact better now, but still not perfect. Perfection will likely never be achieved, but there are still some glaring criticisms out there about Google’s most recent attempt.

Despite the improvement in overall search quality in general, there have been many sites to suffer the consequences of the update – some deservedly and others maybe not so much. As Google will never reveal its secret recipe in its entirety, there are plenty of clues out there, and even facts that Google will share. You can criticize Google’s mystique all you want, but there’s not denying that they do communicate with the webmaster community to a great extent, even if they don’t always tell you everything you want to hear.
